Toshiba super thin LCD can be functionally bent.

Super thin LCD technology is still in it's infancy, but Toshiba has developed a monitor that can be bent to zoom in our out of applications like Google maps and what not.
With recent developments with Sony's super thin "roll-able" OLED panel I don't know how relevant this technology will be soon but it is still fascinating none the less. This LCD still uses an edge lit backlight whose light guide plate is as thin as 0.4mm thick. It uses a sophisticated bend sensor whose value changes the more you bend the panel.

The screen size is 8.4 inches and the resolution of the LCD panel is 800 x 600 pixels. The panel uses a glass substrate that is 0.1mm thick.
