Verizon Gets the iPhone 4 Finally

Verizon's iPhone 4 was announced today as expected.  The 16GB and 32GB versions will be officially released on February 11th for $199.99 and $299.99 with a 2 year contract.  The news has sent shock waves through AT&T and Apple.  AT&T's stock has already fallen $40 a share, while Apple's has jumped $30.  The move will further increase Apple's hold on the smartphone market, by offering the #1 smartphone to the customers of the carrier with the most subscribers.  The phone has a CDMA antenna installed, the top notch has been moved to the left side, and the phone can now act as a 3G mobile hotspot for up to 5 devices.  These are the only changes Apple has made for the Verizon release.  The antenna move has does was not to fix any antenna issues, it was purely to accommodate the CDMA antenna.  The phone is 3G compatible only, no 4G support is available as some had hoped.

The Verizon iPhone will require different cases due to the notch move.  As you can see the volume and silence toggle have been moved ever so slightly down.  So all new cases will have to be made.  Apple's bumper also won't work on the Verizon model.  Follow the link for more details.   Verizon iPhone 4
